We are Sponsoring the ‘St Annes Merlins’ Under 10’s Football Team.

We wanted to show support for the local community and also local charities, the St Annes Club seemed a natural choice and is a charity also. We asked for a brief description of what the team was all about and this is the reply:-

“St Annes U9 girls were getting more and more girls wanting to play football. The club were keen to harness this enthusiasm and despite having full teams, wanted to make sure local children who wanted to play football, could play football. 

St Annes Football Club is the only club on Lytham st Annes, Warton, Freckleton and Kirkham with girl only team playing in female leagues. The number of girls was growing week by week and so together I, with the help of John and Patrick formed the Merlins, giving all girls the opportunity to play in matches, and put their training into practice. Having already one team to organise we were on the lookout for a coach for the team. The girls were super keen and already were gelling as a team, they were ready for the new season.

Dom stepped up as coach and took the team on, planning great developmental training sessions, and working on positions and tactics. We just needed a kit…

Digital Ink very kindly offered to sponsor the new kit, and the team were sorted! A fab team of keen and talented footballers, in brand new swanky kits, started playing together in their first season. Numbers keep on growing too!"
